Popular Pop-Up-Up Shop Makes Welcome Return

In the run up to National Volunteers’ Week, Thornbury Volunteer Centre will once again be running a pop-up shop at 11 St Mary Way, next door to TSB in the St Mary Centre. It will open at 10am on Saturday 12 May and will continue all week until Saturday 19 May. Its aim is to bring volunteering into the shopping centre, raise the profile of the Volunteer Centre, highlight the hundreds of local volunteering opportunities available and encourage more people to volunteer.

Last year this proved to be very successful with at least 15 potential new volunteers registering and many more taking information.

The shop will also act as a way to raise funds for the Centre, which as a small local charity is always in need of support. It will sell a wide assortment of good quality pre-owned goods from clothing to furniture and bric-a-brac to toys. They would welcome any donations, please contact Kim Webb at their office to arrange delivery. Any items not sold at the end of their time will be donated among the other Thornbury charity shops.

The shop will be open between 10am and 4pm daily and also on the following four Saturdays, 26 May, 2 June, 9 June and 16 June. They may also “pop-up” at other times during those weeks so please keep looking out for them.

Do please call in and see them, help them to raise valuable funds to support volunteering in their community, and possibly even volunteer yourself.

Grateful thanks to the Management team of the St Mary Centre for giving them this opportunity.
