Gromit Colouring Competition Winners Announced

In addition to sponsoring the Honeysuckle Rose Gromit sculpture in the town this year, with a number of other supporters, Thornbury Chamber of Commerce also ran a colouring competition, which would also help raise funds for The Grand Appeal, who support the important work at Bristol Children’s Hospital.

The competition was open to all age groups, and over 100 entries were submitted from adults and children alike who had designed their own Gromit, Wallace or Feathers.

The standard was very high and Sarah Jane Grace, the artist who designed and painted our Honeysuckle Rose very kindly agreed to judge the entries.  There were 3 age groups, 7 and under, 8 – 16 and over 16’s.  The winners chosen by Sarah Jane Grace were:

Rosie Harraway – Age 7
Freya Davies Mouncher – age 10
Henrietta Ebbs – Age 19

They were each awarded a “paint your own Gromit” figurine plus a Thornbury notebook and bag.

Sarah Jane Grace, also asked for the following entries to receive a special mention…

Emily Day – 11
Aoife McBride – 10
Sophie Wistow – 12
T Lucas – 6
Isabella Shoreman – 7
Sid Sealey – 7
Eva Wilde – 5
Ellen Hall – 7

The three winning entries can be seen below and all of the other entries submitted will be displayed in 11 St Mary Way (opposite Savers) in the St Mary Centre for the remainder of October.
