Thornbury celebrates marriage in style

Are you getting married or organising a celebratory event?  If the answer is ‘yes’ be sure to pencil in your diary – Saturday 16th September between 10.00am and 3.00pm. Thornbury is hosting its very own ‘living’ Wedding Festival called ‘Beaux and Belles’ to celebrate the enormous wealth of provision the town offers.

There will be stalls in St Mary Centre where you can meet new service providers and experience a range of entertainment. Many of the local retailers will be showcasing their products and services for you to sample and discuss.

Fifteen local businesses are taking part in a Beaux and Belles Trail – you simply collect a map from the Information Centre and have it stamped at each of the venues. This is then handed in at the Information Centre, and will be the key to the ‘Wedding Raffle’ drawn at the end of the day.  Each business is offering a generous gift to create a prestigious prize.

It is definitely a wedding festival with a difference with activities for children and a competition for the best wedding hat worn on the day. This competition is open to both males and females – just wear a hat suitable for a wedding, have your picture taken at the Information Stand and potentially win a prize.

Unlike a normal wedding fayre, you will probably want to spend more time in Thornbury.  There is free parking and lots of places to eat and drink.  For more information and updates, please follow www.mythornbury.co.uk.
